West Virginia is a state in the Southern Region of America. It is also called “Mountain state” as it is the only State in U.S which is completely situated on a mountain range. West Virginia’s border connects with Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Weather of West Virginia is humid continental climate, with hot summers and cool to cold winters.

It has the population of around 1.7 million people. Some of the important cities of the state are Beckley, Bluefield, Charles Town, Charleston which is the state’s capital and hub of the economic activity. Harpers Ferry which is a major tourist destination and also a famous Civil war site, Huntington, Morgantown and Parkersburg are other worth-seeing cities. You can get around by car and train. Inter area bus system is there to facilitate your move between the cities.

Rich in natural resources and beauty, West Virginia is situated between the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Ohio River to the west. You would love Black Water Falls State Park which runs along the Black Water River and it is the top most photographed location in the State. Monongahela National Forest also attracts a lot of tourists. Some of the other amusement and sports activities are water rafting, kayaking, skiing, golf, mountain-biking, hiking, and off-road driving.
