Information about Atlantic City:
Regardless of what your tastes are, a short road trip by bus or car to Atlantic City is sure to be a worthwhile journey. Located in New Jersey's Atlantic County, this city had a recorded population of more than thirty five thousand at the end of last year.
It attracts many tourists due to the exotic beaches that surround the area, with anyone looking for the perfect sand, sun and sea combination being bound to contemplate coming to this exquisite city. It lies on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, from where it gets its name and has therefore always managed to attract countless tourists since it was connected to Philadelphia in 1854 through a railway line, the same year that the city was formed. Because of this the city has many world class hotels built inside it, with most of them being able to compete with the best in the world when it comes to history, class, service and luxury.
The city is also famous for its gambling, with the very famous gambling casino, Borgata, being situated here in Atlantic City. All of the city's gambling progress is remarkable considering that it was not legal to gamble within the city before a law was passed in 1976 so as to improve the deteriorating popularity of the city at that time. The first ever legal gambling house in all of Eastern America was built in this city when the Chalfonte Haddon Hall Hotel was converted into a casino two years after the 1976 legalization. Now the city hosts many gambling houses and casinos, including a few from the Donald Trump Empire such as the Trump Taj Mahal, with Harrah's entertainment also having a few casinos within the city.
The city has excellent highways and the pleasant scenic bus drive that leads to the city is a very pleasurable experience for almost all who undertake it.
