Information about JFK Airport:
John F. Kennedy Airport is one of the most well known airports in the world and is located in New York. It is the main hub of the Delta Airlines and the American Airlines on the east coast in addition to being the landing base for ninety other airlines from all over the world. This massive airport has bus services to New York and Long Island through all the major routes which not only provide free transfers for subway connections but are also accessible by the handicapped individuals. In addition to the airport bus service, there are a number of private bus operators and even some of airlines which provide bus facility to their passengers.
There are eight terminals at the JFK Airport arranged in a U-shaped format and the sign system followed here is similar to the one followed at the other two airports, namely LaGuardia and Newark Airport. This sign system uses yellow colour to indicate the way to the ticketing counters, the flight services and the airline gates, black to indicate restrooms and other passenger amenities like telephones and green to indicate ground transportation services. There is an AirTrain system and access roads to facilitate movement between the various terminals and recent renovation and redevelopment have further improved the efficiency of the terminals. The JFK Airport has two pairs of parallel runways to handle all the incoming and the out going flights and these are monitored by the Air Traffic Control Tower.
JFK Airport handles international as well as domestic flights and offers excellent facilities for aircraft servicing in terms of seven aircraft hangers along with refuelling and fuel storage facilities. The air freight and passenger travel accounts for much of the commercial activity happening at the airport which is America’s main connection to European and Asian countries.
