In the southwestern part of the United States lies the city of Dayton. It is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Ohio and the third fastest growing metropolitan area in the Midwest. It is situated within the Miami Valley Region of Ohio, north of Cincinnati Metropolitan area.

Dayton is known for being host to important industrial, aeroscope and technological engineering research activities. The city was also the home of the signing of the Dayton-Peace Accords which brought an end to the war in Bosnia.

The place is dominated by a humid continental climate which is characterized by hot, summers and cold dry winters. The highest temperature that was recorded was 105 degrees F which happened in July 1934 and the coldest was -21 degrees F in January 1985.

This is due to the slowdown of manufacturing in the region and the growth of the neighboring suburbs like Eaglewood, Vandalia, Beavercreek, Miamisburg and Centerville. In February 2009, Dayton ranked fifth in Forbes Magazine’s list of America’s Emptiest cities.
