Information about Arlington:

Arlington is located on the banks of the Potomac River and lies adjacent to the cities of Washington and Alexandria. Although geographically it is the smallest self governing county in America, it holds the honour of having the maximum number of educated residents and is considered to be the safest city during an economic recession. The streets in Arlington follow an east west configuration and are traversed by a number of Interstate highways connecting the city to other parts of the country. The public transport consists of a number of regional public bus services known as Metrobus, Fairfax Connector and PRTC in addition to a county public bus system commonly known as Arlington Transit. In addition, the city is also well connected with domestic and international airports and the metro service.

Arlington is a city of distinction as it is home to The Pentagon which happens to be the headquarters of the US Department of Defence. The Pentagon is one of the most efficiently designed buildings in the world which was constructed with sand and gravel dredged from the Potomac River. Having derived its name from its shape, it is a five sided building consisting of five floors with each floor having five ring corridors. Among other specialized offices, The Pentagon has a café named as the Ground Zero Café which is reminiscent of its cold war days. Another noteworthy attraction in the city of Arlington is the Arlington National Cemetery which served as a burial ground for the country’s war veterans and famous personalities like President John F. Kennedy and his family. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is also located here.

The population of the city of Arlington is predominantly white with very little representation from other races. Arlington experiences cold winters and hot summers with moderate rainfall occurring throughout the year.
