Albany is the capital city of the state of New York and holds the honour of being the second oldest city in the state as regards the date of its incorporation. The city is strategically located on the banks of the Hudson River, south of the point of confluence of the two rivers, Hudson and Mohawk, and is known as the ‘Crossroads City’ because of being equidistant from the cities of Boston, Buffalo, Montreal and New York.
