Information about San Ysidro:
San Ysidro is a well known community, in the city of San Diego in California. It is located to the north of the international border of Mexico, and is the southernmost point of the San Diego County. Although there are two independent municipalities in between San Ysidro and San Diego, the two parts are connected by a 400ft wide boundary line over the San Diego Bay. It has been a part of the San Diego city since 1957. It was named after the patron saint of farmers Saint Isidore. It’s one of the key points in the transportation of illegal drugs to the US.
The climate is mostly incredible throughout the year with little or no rainfall. The coastline temperature mostly hovers around 23-27 degree Celsius. The hottest month of the year is September, but the temperature can change very rapidly with the nights getting really cool near the beach. It’s been the home to one of the worst killing sprees ever, when around 20 people were killed by James Oliver Huberty at McDonald's.
It’s the busiest land crossing of the world, where the interstate 5 of the US enters Mexico. Around 40 million people enter the US every year through the port of entry at San Ysidro, most of them being workers. There are many places of interest nearby such as the San Diego Zoo, located in Balboa Park. There’s also the San Diego Maritime Museum which has many 19th century ships including the oldest sailing ship.
