Hollywood, the main city of South Florida metropolitan area has been nicknamed as ‘The Diamond of the Gold Coast’. It is the twelfth biggest city in Florida, after having grown at a fast pace in the 1950s and 1960s respectively.

Many of the older theatres are used for premier releases and also to host the Academy awards. Hollywood is also well-known because of its prominent and buzzing nightlife.
Hollywood city has a total area of eighty square kilometers, out of which nine square kilometers is water. The Atlantic Ocean washes up 5-6 kilometers of its coastline. It borders on Fort Lauderdale to the north, Pembroke Pines to the west and West Park and Hallandale Beach to the south. Hollywood has a good accessibility. You may reach here travelling by bus. The transport system within the area is also good. It is a must visit place!
