Sea World is a chain of marine mammal parks in the United States of America. The parks feature zoological displays featuring marine animals like sea lion and dolphins. The parks currently operate in Florida, San Diego, California, Texas, Orlando and San Antonio and previously in Aurora, Ohio. The group plans to open an overseas park at Dubai, which is currently on hold due to the economic conditions.

Sea World parks happen to feature various thrill rides, which includes roller coasters. Busch Entertainment Corp., the family entertainment division of Anheuser-Busch owns the parks. The Sea World at Orlando recently added the Aquatica water park to its adventure parks to attract more crowds. The biggest attraction of the park is the Shark Encounter, in which the guests are carried through a submerged acrylic tube into the tank of the shark. The other famous ride is Wild Arctic, in which a helicopter-ride simulation to the Arctic takes place, after which, the guests arrive at the base station, where they observe polar bears, Pacific walruses, and beluga whales. The park hosts Shamu’s Happy Harbor, the playground for children.

Sea World has been active in wildlife projects by contributing to wildlife conservation. The scientist and zoologists of Sea World, along with the trainers and rescue teams often participate in research and wildlife preservation. A lot of whales, sea lions and dolphins have been saved by the teams of Sea World and thus helped in raising awareness of endangered manatees. Sea World recently formed the non-profit Sea World & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, which shows their commitment towards conservation, research and animal rescue. Sea World is a world-class organization of education, conservation and research, as the Association of Zoos and Aquariums have accredited it.
