The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Center for Public Affairs is the presidential library of Ronald Reagan, the ex-president of the United States of America. The library is located 40 miles from Downtown Los Angeles in the Simi Valley, California. The museum can be accessed by driving or on a public bus to Olsen Road of State Route 23, which happens to connect State Route 118, also known as the Ronald Reagan Freeway.

The largest of the twelve presidential libraries, it features temporary exhibits that keep changing continually and a permanent exhibit that showcases the life of President Ronald Reagan. The exhibit starts with Reagan’s childhood days in Illinois and goes on to his military life, marriage and eventual political career. There is a gallery that shows footage of the famous “A time for choosing” speech and his subsequent time as a governor. Other items used by the president, such as the desk used as a governor, inauguration suit, and a White House table are on display.

There is a replica of the Oval Office inside the museum, which is a common feature in all the presidential libraries. However, there are certain exhibits on his ranch, and Nancy Reagan, his wife. The temporary retreats keep changing on topics like Nancy Reagan’s designer dresses, and generally run for about a year.

One of the most interesting exhibits in the museum is the permanent display of the Boeing 777 aircraft used during Reagan’s time. The library has witnessed several important events like Ronald Reagan’s funeral and the Republican presidential candidates’ debate. It is notable that the casket of Ronald Reagan lay in repose in the lobby of the library for three days and was paid homage by over 1,05,000 people. A tomb and a memorial site has been built on the library grounds.
