Knott’s Berry Farm is the first theme park of the United States of America, located in Buena Park, California. The theme park, originally established by Walter Knott is now under the operation of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.

Walter Knott, being an berry seller, implemented such themed parks, starting with a ghost town, to engage the people waiting outside his wife’s restaurant. This started growing big, and eventually he sold it to Cedar fair, after refusing similar offer from Walt Disney. At present, the park is famous for its thrill rides with a number of roller coasters built in the park.

There are certain other landmarks beside the theme park that makes the whole area more popular, such as the Buena Park Downtown, Medieval Times, and shopping centers like Wal-Mart and Kohl. To add more value to the brand, Cedar Fair has also renamed the Radisson Resort hotel it acquired to Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel.

The property contains a replica of the Independence Hall and Knott’s Soak City; the Ghost Town which happens to be the oldest part of the whole property. Then there is a Mexican-themed area named the Fiesta Village, which includes a few roller coasters and merry-go-round. The Boardwalk comprises of the park’s most thrill rides and also contains the Sky Cabin Tower, which was the tallest structure in the Orange Country till sometime ago. Other major parts include Camp Snoopy – an area especially for the children; Wild Water Wilderness and Indian Trails. There are certain annual events like “Knott’s Halloween Haunt” that attracts a huge crowd every year.

Knott’s Berry Park is just 30 minutes from the Orange County Airport and downtown Los Angeles. The freeway 91 and 5 are also a couple miles away, so to reach the park, all you need to do is drive or board to reach Beach Boulevard, Buena Park.
