Information about Disneyland:
Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California and is operated and maintained by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts of Walt Disney Company. This park, opened publicly in the 18th of July, 1955, is the only one to be designed, built and operated by Walt Disney himself.
The park, now re-branded to “Disneyland Park”, to avoid conflict with its other brand, Disneyland Resort, is the second most visited park in the world with around 515 million visits till date. Interestingly, the most visited park is the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World. The park is divided into four realms, such that, when one enters any of the realms, he/she will be completely cut off any of the other three realms. The park initially started with five themed areas: Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. However, during the years, more themed areas have been added to it, including the Holidayland in 1957, New Orleans Square in 1966 Critter Country in 1972 and Mickey’s Toontown in 1993.
Transportation to this wonderful park happens to be the best, courtesy Walt Disney. He envisioned excellent transport facilities, especially the rail network. The whole of the park is encircled by a train network, and is known as the Disneyland Railroad (DRR). One of the major attractions of the park is the monorail service, which happens to be the first in Western Hemisphere. The vehicles found on the Main Street, including the double-decker bus and a horse-drawn streetcar are available for one-way rides. Moreover, there is a scheduled helicopter service from LAX airport to the park itself, provided by Los Angeles Airways.
