Cupertino translated as “little blanket” is a city in Santa Clara County. This suburban stretches itself from west of San Jose to parts of the city extending till the foothills of Santa Cruz Mountains.
Cupertino is at times denoted as heart of Silicon Valley as the worldwide headquarters for Apple is located in the city. The climate of Cupertino is balmy; comprising of wet winters and dry summers. Woods cover the hills dominating the lowlands of Cupertino.
Intersection of Stevens Creek and De Anza Boulevards is called as Crossroads. As Cupertino does not have an exclusive shopping district; Cali Mill Plaza at the cross roads is treated as the traditional center and historical location of the city.
Cupertino is suburbanized as it is encompassed with offices of high-tech companies like Hewlett Packard, IBM, Sun Microsystems, etc. The standard of living of the residents is comparatively high as the city is occupied with technical – industrial companies.
Cupertino has Steven Creeks Boulevard and De Anza Boulevard as two main routes that run from east to west and north to south respectively. The city is well connected by the road systems. The two throughways are crossed in the city and similar to the suburb at California; spreads into multi-lane avenues.
These avenues constitute of many crossways and traffic lights are placed at these intersections for better control of traffic. Cupertino city does not have any commuter rail in the city. Only one commuter rail runs through the cities to the north and east and line runs to the south. Cupertino is a midland and like most of the bay area cities depends on Port of Oakland for seafaring.
Round the clock bus service is being planned. But as of now to commute within the city bus services are provided by VTA. Passenger and freight transit through air is available at airports in San Jose
